Start with the programme requirements
Make a separate checklist for every programme. A requirement for one institution may not apply to another. Confirm the application route, deadline, acceptable document formats and whether references must be submitted directly by a referee.
Organise your supporting documents
- Academic certificates and transcripts, including grading information where requested.
- A current CV that accurately records study, employment and relevant activities.
- A personal statement or statement of purpose tailored to the programme.
- References from suitable academic or professional contacts.
- Identity documents and evidence of any additional requirements listed by the institution.
- Translations or certified copies only where the receiving institution requires them.
Write a personal statement with substance
Explain why this subject matters to you, what has prepared you for it and how the course fits your plans. Use specific examples rather than generic praise. Check that the modules and opportunities you mention actually belong to the selected programme.
GST provides SOP guidance, while the experiences, motivations and final statement remain yours. Do not invent achievements or use another applicant’s story.
Review before submission
Check names, dates, qualification titles and contact details against your records. Open every attachment and make sure scans are readable. Save a final copy of the application and keep the acknowledgement or reference number.
Document preparation support does not replace certification by a body authorised to issue it. If certification is needed, follow the institution’s instructions.
Track decisions and conditions
Monitor your inbox and application portal for requests. Respond within the stated deadline, and ask for clarification if a requirement is unclear. Review offers together so you understand academic conditions, fees, deposit terms and the next steps.
